On Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th March our Year 8 students went for a fieldwork session at Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park. The students had the opportunity to observe different habitats like xagħri, il-makkja and l-isteppa. They also learnt how to use the quadrats. Together they observed and identified a large variety of plants found in the Maltese islands. Our students learnt how these plants adapt themselves to the hot and humid climate of Malta. Finally, they learnt about the importance of trees and the effect they leave on the climate.
We would like to thank Ms Bahmuller, Ms Caruana and Ms Farrugia, our science teachers who offered this opportunity to our students. We also thank the LSEs who accompanied these groups.
