Thursday, 14th December – During the first term our Year 9 Prince’s Trust students worked on a project as a team.  They showed interest in taking part in a Christmas Market organized by the Prince’s Trust Achieve and HSBC during the month of December and sell Christmas products.  They decided to make gluten free coconut balls, vegan oreo logs, gingerbread mix and muffin mix.  They also designed labels to stick on the products.  Our students geared up and bought the necessary ingredients to prepare the products.  Finally, the day arrived for our students to go and sell the products they prepared at the Christmas Market.  This activity helped our students to work in a team and produce together these items.  We appreciate the work done by Ms Rachel Aquilina, Ms Laura Cachia and Ms Domenique Vella for their dedication and help they give to our students.

On Tuesday 12th December we had our annual marathon walk.

It was a sunny day, and our students were eager to leave for the walk.  After the assembly they gathered and left with the coaches to Rabat.  They walked to Mġarr and stopped on the way at Tas-Salib in Binġemma.  Around 50 members of staff and 320 students could appreciate the view of the Maltese countryside while they walked.  At around 11:30 they arrived in Mġarr and there they spent time playing football or just sat down resting and eating lunch.  At around 13:15 the coaches arrived to take staff and students back to school.

Once back to school the Headmaster thanked all those who helped and thanked the students for their diligent behaviour during the walk.  The Headmaster also announced that the sum of €8150 was gathered for this year’s marathon walk.  We thank God for this generosity and for these memorable experiences.

On Thursday, 7th December our school community celebrated the Christmas concert.  The celebration was a living proof of the love and dedication we have at school.  The evening kicked off with a variety of poems in different languages related to Christmas and Christmas songs.  Soon after we had the play ‘Ħolm tal-Milied?’  The atmosphere in the hall was a joyful and peaceful one.  We would like to thank the members of staff who went out of their way to prepare such a memorable evening.  Thank you also to the parents for their constant support towards the school.

As part of the preparation for post-secondary education of our Year 11 students, we have organised a visit at Junior College and at Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary.  During these visits, our students could understand better what these post-secondary institutions have to offer.  They had a talk from the Head of School and the Guidance team.  After, our students had the opportunity to visit the library, classes, gym and laboratories.  This activity was truly appreciated by our Year 11 students.
