Today, Ms. Amanda Smith and Ms. Jana Borg Vella concluded their visit to Dublin, Ireland. During their two days there, they collaborated with educators at Mount Seskin High School to prepare a program for our teachers and students who will visit this school in the coming months. They held meetings with the coordinators of the school’s international projects, as well as with the principal and vice principal. Thanks to this Erasmus+ project, the teachers were able to observe the work of the educators at the school closely. We would like to extend our gratitude to Mount Seskin High School for welcoming our teachers and to Erasmus+ for providing these valuable opportunities.
On Monday, November 11, during the week of Santa Venera Day celebrations, the local council hosted a launch event for the book “Taħriġ il-Fehem Santa Venera,” written by Mr. Noel Cachia. The event was attended by Mayor Mr. Gianluca Falzon, Honorable Keith Azzopardi Tanti MP, and Mr. David Muscat, CEO of the National Literacy Agency. Several members of the local council, local residents, and school students from the same locality were also present for the occasion.
Last October, students participating in the King’s Trust International Achieve had the honour of meeting Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, during their visit to Malta for a party celebrating the King’s birthday. Among these privileged students was Justin Abela, a Year 10 student. The students had the opportunity to share how KTI Achieve has positively impacted their lives and helped them enhance various skills in preparation for their post-secondary education and careers.
This week, a group of 33 students and 3 teachers from the Istituto Comprensivo Don Lorenzo Milano in Monte Porzio Catone, located in the province of Rome, made an eTwinning exchange visit to our school. This visit is in relation to last year’s project, “Leggende dei nostri territori,” as well as this year’s project, “Una passeggiata nelle città storiche dei nostri territori,” which involved our students in Years 9 and 10. During their stay, the group participated in various activities related to these projects across the Maltese Islands. We believe that such learning experiences are highly beneficial for both parties.
Throughout the month of October, our students actively participated in a series of initiatives aimed at promoting awareness of Mental Health. The planned activities included the creation of informative posters, quizzes, and structured debates on the subject. We express our sincere gratitude to the PSCD teachers who skillfully coordinated these activities.
Last week, the Year 8 students, along with their Maltese teachers, participated in an argumentative writing workshop. They had the opportunity to meet Mr. Mark Laurence Zammit, a television personality and journalist with extensive experience in crafting strong arguments. After the meeting, the students were able to formulate and write their own argumentative pieces with the assistance of their teachers.
