Promotion to a higher form
Promotion is achieved by obtaining 50% or more in the final marks of each subject. The final marks in each subject are worked out in this way:
- 20% of the Half-Yearly Examination result
- 40% of the Assessment mark (based on the average marks of homeworks, written tests, oral tests, projects, etc.)
- 40% of the Annual Examination result
Thanks to this system, every student has the opportunity of obtaining his marks from all the work done throughout the scholastic year, and not just on the results of the exams. The student passes the exam by obtaining 50% or more in the final mark. In the event of failing the final mark the student will have to sit for the supplementary exam of the subject he failed in. These supplementary exams are held in the third week of August.
If the student obtains less than 50% in the final marks of six subjects or more then he will not be promoted and will have to repeat the year. We believe that this system is of benefit to the students who are thus more motivated in every subject.
